I don't know how long these have been where they are, up at the lake, because there is a dangerous curve in the road, and they are behind guard rails. You just can't see them while driving. I parked in a bed and breakfast parking space, hopped the guard rail, and there they were. I just wanted to get a few shots of Lake Erie, and got an added attraction.

An interesting find and photo, Jimbob. I like your perspective and vanishing point. It looks like a stony beach is
hard on bare feet in the summertime.

Quite interesting shot Jimbob. The fact that they are standing upright shows that the stones were placed one above the other with great care. They have used the principle of constructing a breakwater in a port. Good find and capture!

A great shot and find Jim - and much nicer weather than your previous Lake Erie shots!

Fabulous capture with outstanding detail and depth, really love the textures, makes me feel like I'm right there on the beach - I see in full there is still some ice along the shoreline beyond

Well Jimbob, you certainly came across an interesting find. The rocks have a rather artistic feel to them. I like the composition on this one. Well Done!!!!!!

I believe someone took "pick up sticks," to the next level JimboB.
Perhaps someone with some rocky experiences.
They do have an artistic flair to them. Now about you hopping the guard rail....................

This one crept up on me. The longer that I looked at it, the more I enjoyed it. Depth of field is perfect.

Cairns on a beach, leading to the right, but in the background the beach curves left - cairns, markers of: path, or once present, or event, all of which involve people, and time.

A small stone beach. How far did the person (or people) who made those cairns have to travel to find those larger stones? Why did they do so? What was this place/time to them?

I am not surprised you thought this scene worth photographing (would anyone thoughtful visually oriented person be? I very much doubt it).

The right/left element of this photograph reminds me of something I occasionally say about myself: "I'm so far left I'm right."

The site is a very good find; I think your photograph's composition of it is excellent.

Good composition and perspective in the photo, Jimbob. A great find of the stone cairns and a great looking sky in the image.
