Contrast - rowing boats and luxury yachts. I was amused by the names - Maple, Avril, Melanie, Doris and .....Eagle !! :) This is Lake Windermere, Cumbria, the largest natural lake in England

Instead of the 'other side of the tracks', this is the other side of the pier, eh? It's a wonderful image, Eve - well done in all technical areas and I really enjoy the message!

What a terrific image Eve. I love the row boats and their special names, be they have more fun most of the time. Excellent post and so glad you shared it.

Looks like a great time can be had by all, and there's not a one that I wouldn't pick..especially the poor little rig that no one named (number 6), now that I might put your name to :) Aside from the obvious character of the presentation I really like the clarity of the water and the luxurious feel it lends the post as the waves gently lap the shore line, no doubt kicked up by some passing craft. Each individual trough seems to carry a myriad spectrum of colors that rounds out this aspect of the composition. I see the ducks don't care which side of the dock they swim in and perhaps there's a little lesson for us there as well :) I really like this...your technical handling of the picture is very nice and lets us enjoy the content. :)PJ

Like your capture of the rowboats especially. The luxury yachts I'm afraid are out of my league. The names on the boats are amusing but I see one without a name ... poor little orphan I guess found floating aimlessly upon that lovely lake. Well done Eve.

That's a terrific image, very different, unique. Wonder why the one boat remained unamed? Interesting composition. It had me looking around in it for quite awhile.

This is a great image with the contrasting boats. The diagonal line of the dock adds interest to the composition and the colors are wonderful.

A complete beautiful photograph of the boats on the lake. Generally boats have numbers, but the names are in fact much funnier.
