Patti (Fogz) expressed a wish to see the coloured version of my Sepia Sky . This was a cropped portion of THIS posting where it was suggested it may be a good HDR candidate, so I gave it a go with a program called Easy HDR (which proved to be a contradiction in terms) I thought the colours were too intense and unrealistic so converted it to the Sepia version.Opinions welcome :)

Um. I tend to agree with your decision to convert it to sepia, Lyn. It's a fine landscape, but the HDR does seem over-aggressive, particularly in the way it has rendered the sky. Maybe we could also see a non-HDR version for comparison?

Oh, I like it!...The sky is a little dramatic, but that can be toned!...over-all I think it's great!....just my humble opinion, of course!..which no one listens to anyhow!...lol

Nice work!

*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!* Dunstickin's Gallery

Maybe this just wasn't a good candidate for HDR. I think I prefer the sepia version too. It remains a wonderful photo never the less. A pretty scene and nice composition.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

The contrast is too high Lyn. I too prefer the sepia version.

Ah, another software oxymoron, eh? I think I agree with your assessment. I really like the sepia version.

a contradiction in terms ...hahaha well, nothing new under the sun then !
most of those programs are to hard to handle hehe he :-)
I certanly do love this image, but when i viewed your first posting (link above) called :
The sky knows the reasons . . . . i must say that i like that one best.
It is much more natural. But if i would not have seen that one, this one would have gotten high marks.
Am still not up to date with viewing (due to my holliday) the new images from my friends, but be sure that i will check out your gallerie on what i have missed out on the last 2 weeks.

I have had the same problem with that program and have been working with it so long I just had to put up a disaster. Yours is far from that and you've learned how to drive the darned thing, but to tell you the truth I liked the very first upload the best. There is no denying that this whole scene as a composition is very dramatic :)

I believe you're correct Eve. This one is much too saturated. I like the sepia version a lot better. =)

I actually love this very much as it is. It could easily be taken for one of the great masters art pieces. Its gorgeous. You have something to be very proud of. If I could paint scenery like this I sure would do it..thanx so much..verena

oops! I am late in commenting and you posted this one at my request! :) ...and viewing this image Lyn I think it is very good, but the sky is too intense I think, so you made a good decision with the sepia. However, if the sky was reworked a bit this would be fantastic too! ....now don't go off and do another job on it just because I said that! lol! :)

I like this one a lot. The HDR or whatever makes it pretty unrealistic, but I like the drama and color. I am almost always partial to color over sepia or B&W even though I can appreciate the artistic elements of either.
