I chose this bee especially for this shot from the many that were humingly buzzing about late one afternoon in the beautiful garden of a place I was staying in the summer. It seemed a pretty nice specimen so I told it if it posed nicely it may even get on a desktop one day. I think it was not a very bright buzzer as it posed upside down! It had a wonderful selection of flowers to chose from - roses, and lilies but it chose this dahlia - weatherbeaten, and bit bedraggled.I was endeared to this little bee for recognising that although past its prime the flower still had its uses :) The resulting poor photo has languished in my Failure File for many months so I though I would tidy it up a bit. (You can see the Original Here ) I have kept my promise to the bee, and it has been on my desktop for a couple of days. I think it needs a change of scenery now, any offers? . . . Beautiful flower and very interesting bee. This species has some very interesting adaptations. Wonderful composition and warm, friendly colors.

B++ lol. I am glad you talk to the bees. Do they call you honey? You did a gorgeous job of cleaning up the earlier photo. I think I will send you my picture to see if you could do the same. Never mind, I was just told I am beyond any help. Great photo and presentation Lyn.

Beautifully tinkered with Lyn. The difference between the two pictures is immense.

As the bee has other priorities, think he wasn't impressed by your promise Lyn, lol. Wonderful post!

You have done a good job of "renovating" flower and bee. Nice warm colours and a very good presentation.

The original was great, but you have turned it into an artistic treasure with your lovely framing and color choices. You sure do have the eye for a beautiful composition and the skill to make it succeed as an art work.

Very nicely put together. I love the softness around the edges as a frame. And the colours of the bee and the flower is just fantastic. They were made for each other I think. Verena

You did good tarting this one up. The bee got his curtain call in the end! It makes for a nice soft romantic shot - the yellows on his body work well with the soft yellows in the flower. A dreamy kind of shot.
