A water feature at a local restaurant. Hightly polished steel panels over which the water flows into a trough below.I have photographed it several times before but always the light has been not quite right, so this time I patiently waited until the sun was on the garden in front of it and it seems to have worked much better. It was interesting watching the reaction of passers-by. Most adults walked right on but children seemed to enjoy it, especially one little girl who climbed on the side of the trough and took several gulps of flowing water. Her father asked if she was thirsty and she said no, she was 'tasting' the colours :) Taken with Panasonic DMC FZ28. A taste of the Colours of Nature in Spring in New Zealand and my entry for the contest. Thank you for viewing. Comments of any kind are always welcome and appreciated.

The flowing water gives it something like an Orton effect. Interesting scene well captured Lyn.

A highly unusual and very beautiful capture Lyn. It looks almost autumnal, but, of course, it's spring where you are.

Tasting colors? What a statement that is. Great shot as well LE. Should wash the other entries away in the contest.

I'm glad you were patient Lynn and waited for the right lighting for this. Very unusual and so pretty. I am drawn to the unique texture in the water and the strong contrast between the rock wall and the light/patterns/coloring on the water. Awesome! Thanks for sharing:)

Wonderful textures and beautiful colours in the wall of water. I like the angle of the shot. The starkness of the tree in the background is slightly distracting. Nicely presented scene.

The subtle colors reflected in the water are really very nice, as is the texture. Great capture, LynEve, and good luck in the contest. Great background story, too.

Before reading your great narrative I thought this was a window with frozen 'black ice' on it. A taste of the colors is very nice idea. Good luck in the contest , my friend.
