This is the same rosebud I used for 'Pearls & Lace' showing her true colours and opened up a little, saved floating in water. Rose is 'Liverpool Echo'. Taken with Canon 450D. Thanks for viewing. This would be a great contest entry too, Lyn. That Liverpool Echo is one fine rose. Nice focus on this beautiful shot.

What a beautiful, delicate shot! The idea of photographing it floating in a clear bowl was great - somehow adds to it looking delicate and I love the water droplets on it.

The white context for the flowers is very interesting, I'm thinking in comparison to the more common black bg used for many rose shots. I know the black lifts the contrast of colours, I can see that the white does "something" to the colours in this shot but I can't describe it. Anyway, the effect works well with this particular flower and setting, it has an "antique" feeling to it.
