Flour Power, Regan Gentry (2008)
This is an unusual sculpture in Christchurch, NZ. Unfortunately I did not capture the lower half, it is formed like a wheat sheaf. Wheat is significant for Christchurch and the rolling Canterbury Plains grow a lot of it. There is a Wheat Sheaf on the city Coat of Arms.
The sculpture is made from eight and a half steel power poles with 153 street lamps at the top and it is lit up at night. An earthquake survivor :)

Tremendous sculpture - I'd love to see this one up close and personal, but Lyn your capture is the next best thing. A great shot and interesting dialogue.

It looks like a great sculpture, LE.
I wish it wasn't competing for space with the tree, even though it gives a sense of scale.

---An earthquake survivor---

Lyn, it would not surprise me if it has become a symbol for the rise of Christchurch. Symbol also for determination.
