Does anyone remember the song ? (Ivor Novello)
"We'll gather lilacs in the spring again

A lovely melody.
But..... I would never ever gather lilacs as I was brought up to believe that would bring bad luck - and even more if lilacs were taken into the house.
So my white lilac is left to grow and flourish, and look beautiful with no one chopping bits off her. She just gets shot with a camera occasionally :)

I've never heard of that superstition about bad luck. We have lilacs on the north and south sides of our back yard and miniatures out in front, and every spring my wife clips some to sit in a vase on the dining room table. That way we get that terrific smell in the house 24/7.. at least until they poop out. The diffused lighting in your photo allows for an incredibly delicate representation of these buds. S&F.
