Centaurea montana 'Amethyst Dream' perennial cornflower. This flowers pretty much all year round. I usually chop them down or dig them out at the beginning of winter and they just keep on keeping on ! The bees love them.

An unusual (for me) and interesting flower Lyn. I have never seen this before. Well photographed and presented.

I've photographed this flower before and love it - mine was more towards the purple color but I really like this shade.

Lyn, I've the 'Amethyst Dream' in my garden as well. This herbaceous perennial with grey-green foliage covered in silvery hairs has spreading capabilities, so that they are a kind of floral pest to me. But after viewing your wonderful and well presented macro, think I'll change my opinion on that, 😁 !
