Centaurea montana 'Amethyst Dream' perennial cornflower. This flowers pretty much all year round. I usually chop them down or dig them out at the beginning of winter and they just keep on keeping on ! The bees love them.
Lyn, I've the 'Amethyst Dream' in my garden as well. This herbaceous perennial with grey-green foliage covered in silvery hairs has spreading capabilities, so that they are a kind of floral pest to me. But after viewing your wonderful and well presented macro, think I'll change my opinion on that, 😁 !

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
