The heavy growth down to the edge of the lake, and even the growth of duck weed on the lake itself, produces plenty of shadowy areas under the water, places fish love. I can imagine it's a favorite of local fishermen. This is a phenomenon I noticed during I trip I made as far south as Oklahoma, something that doesn't happen a lot here in North Dakota. I also noticed kudzu growing to the top of telephone pole near Joplin, MO, something else you won't see up here. Perhaps it's the harsh winters that stunts these growths? Whatever the case, your photo is a good enticement for visitors with or without fishing poles.
