A city bus passes through a cold fog as it crosses the Liberty Memorial Bridge, from Bismarck to Mandan, North Dakota. This relatively new bridge spans the Missouri River and the bright floodlights mounted under the bridge cut a knife-sharp swath through the fog on the far left, where lights from a Mandan suburb across the river shine through. This was an 11-second exposure at 1:10 a.m., Tuesday morning, January 23rd. The temperature was around 10 degrees with the windchill pushing it to a little below zero, requiring an occasional wipe of the lens to remove frost buildup. 1.31-12

Nik, this is so very well done. The fog gives us several shades of gray and a mystery beyond that which is visible. Even light comes in a variety of shades.

I was wondering about the lens till I read the last sentence. Very impressive shot Nik. Good depth and well composed. The diffused shine of the lights in the fog looks very nice too. Altogether I would say Excellent !

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Looks like you had a truck go by while you were freezing Knik. If I'm wiping frost off a lens, then I'm lost. :)
This is a fantastic photo and the exposure is so well done with the lights and fog. When are we going to see something from Biloxi?

The fog and empty stretch of highway gives this such a moodiness and mystery...I can picture a secret rendevous or meeting of a couple spies here...the stuff of suspense movies...an excellent capture, Nik, and a fave for me too.
