Another upward view worth capturing, I think. Instead of the typical sunset photo, I felt it was a different take on the subject to capture the effect of a sunset that didn't actually involve clouds. Nearing the end of the day yesterday I was looking up into our Amur Maple out front, noticing how the lowering rays of the sun were lighting up the high leaves of the tree. For anyone not familiar with Amur Maples, like the Sweetgum tree, Amurs produce wildly different colors in their fall leaves that appear in different spots each year, without rhyme or reason, but are definitely a treat for the eye. The leaves are the same five-sided maple but considerably smaller, said individual leaves often exhibiting up to a half-dozen or more different colors on the same leaf.
