Staying with us for a couple months over the summer, my granddaughters are into many activities, including making clay sculptures that I found drying on parchment paper on the stove top. My youngest crafted a replica of one of her school friends, Laura (instead of some mythical cartoon character)---right down to the sparkly dress and fried-egg eyes---and the thing that Laura apparently loves more than anything else... rainbows. I think we oldsters should all hang out with kids more often, if only to absorb some of that sweet simplicity... less political divisions; more clay and rainbows.
'Nik', with the above quote, you've hit the nail on its head! I think there would be less power lust and violence in the world.
I see that your granddaughter Annie not only has a rich imagination (because of the sparkly dress and fried-egg eyes, and the rainbow) but is very talented with creativity too.
Please say thanks to her for providing us with this lovely pieces of art.
