Yeah. I made sure I got her good side. Yeah. I came across her with a large cluster of her sisters at the Chahinkapa Zoo, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, last weekend. When I leaned in to capture her closeup, the sweet smell of about two dozen lilies, all about the size of my open hand, was nearly overwhelming. It was a good whelming, though. When I told her I was planning to share her portrait with my buds at Caedes, she put out her female Carpel (the single thin stem with the wee puff at the end) to entice you all. Did it work?

'Nik', I didn't know that lilies had such a capability, but I like to confirm that it works very well.I hope you haven't hugged her though (😋) because lilies aren't only charming in appearance but are also notorious for their pollen. If it gets on your clothes, it's almost impossible to get it out.
Excellent vantage point anyhow, resulting in a very fine floral macro.

What a lovely capture of this beauty and I bet the fragrance was something to die for. I didn't realize lilies really had a fragrance, but I guess some of them do.
