I'd be interested to know where this was taken - it can't be Alaska surely? You've framed and composed it beautifully, if I was going to suggest an improvement it's that it could perhaps stand a bit of sharpening. Lovely shot all the same.
Nigel, photo was taken in Victoria, BC, Canada. Victoria is situated on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. Butchart Gardens are renown for their stunning beauty.

Thanks for bringing this beauty to the site and onto my hard drive. I'm not sure what you did, but you've made it more beautiful than I think it could possibly be in life!
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
Rather than sharpening it as has been suggested, try expanding the contrast by reassigning new black and white points for the darkest and brightest areas with PS Curves.
I thought this pic could benefit from the technique and gave it a test. Worked wonders.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

This is a great picture! I'm impressed that you managed to get it with hardly any other people in the shot. I am from Victoria and have the annual pass to Butcharts and I always find it hard to get wide range shots without people. Thanks for posting!
