He was probably admiring you hair color and thinking how much it matches his magnificent colors. I think the bird has his eye on you Owd Momma. You better watch where you roost. Just a great photo and I like how he seems to be watching behind him. Stunning capture.

The look in the eye is great, perfect focus and DOF. It almost looks like a Tawny Eagle, But in the UK, they might be named something else. Well done Pat.

Great capture Pat,
not often we see raptor bird shots with a different mood in the eye. This one definitely has a touch of sorrow or loss or something similar.

Boy Pat, he is really beautiful. Love this, it has great colour and the detail of all his feathers, wow. I bet he's thinking if I could only get away from here. Thanks so much for sharing.

He really does look like he's pining for the open skies doesn't he! Very nice shot Momma, and look at that 'bokeh' background. It's a keeper ;-)

It makes me a little sad - he looks very contemplative.

Superb capture of his expression Pat - he certainly does have a wistful look in his eye - I couldn't help but feel sad for all the birds I saw at our local Bird Of Prey Centre ...living in confined spaces and tethered to their perches, but I was glad to watch an exhibition of flying and they all seemed happy enough to come back to the trainer.
