THIS IMAGE IS NOT TO BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER WEBSITE! I have been hearing a lot about the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. Very good and very expensive. Then I remembered I had an older Canon 17-85mm f/3.5-5.6 that I remembered as being very sharp. I got it out and slapped it on the 7D and took off for town on other business but thought I would grab some shots somewhere to test out this combo. The local rodeo area was blowing and going so took some horse shots. I liked the unusual color of this horse. I blacked out the background. This isn't the pin sharp focus I like but will keep messing with the lens and 7D to see if I want to stick with it. I think the color is good. Oh, (brag, brag, brag)...the horses hoofs were buried in grass and very little of his feet were showing so I had to manufacture him some feet. Not bad? Your opinions on the whole image, please.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mister Ed.

Magnificent beautiful horse.....very well done:)

Truck driver and now a blacksmith, Owd Momma. You are a woman of many talents that should have lived during the westward migration--or perhaps you did. :)
Excellent work and your editing skills are really good.

Never met a horse I didn't like. He is a beaut for sure and I like the way you messed with the photo to get this great result. Looks like he's in a spotlight. I almost thought he was a Breyer's horse at first, he is so perfect.

Good picture...The lens and you have done fine..When I had the 7D I had a 15-85mm and that lens was a beauty and the perfect match..It was even better than a 24-105L I had.EF-S Lenses seemed to work better on the 7D IMHO....R.

You have done a very good job here Pat. The horse looks not only beautiful but sharp and colourful. The black background gives this a good DOF.

Excellent capture of this beautiful horse and they are called Appaloosa's. He has a gorgeous colour and they don't all have perfect spots and this one is a good example of it.

This one look excellent on my monitor, Pat. Nice and crisp, good detail and color contrast. Great job in the digital darkroom, as well. I think the horse's hooves turned out great, and I like the black background. Well done!
