Are these Amish kids cute or what? Papa has just got down from the buggy to tie the horse to the hitching posts provided by the store. I wonder who cleans up the poo-poo?

Those buggy seats look quite comfortable for such a fundamental form of transport, it's great to see the Amish family here. It's good of the storeholder to provide hitching posts at their stores, perhaps the horse manure is much sort after.

A delightful picture of a way of life foreign to most of us.
Nice post Pat :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Amish wearing Nikes. I would have never thought. I thought they would have worn Clogs or some sort of home made shoes.

thanks for shoeing us this pic.

I've heard much about the Amish and their way of life. Although we have to respect this, I prefer my own way of life.

Another fine post of the Amish and their habits, Momma.

Regards, Cornelius.

A nice and interesting capture. 2 horse power and no pollution. Horse dung is no pollution. It is sought after by many.

Those kids are adorable. I spent sometime in Pennsylvania a few years ago. I fell in love with the Amish farms.
