This is a double rarity for me to post, it is in B&W and a person is the subject matter of this photo. Taken in an old village in Massachusetts.

Classic comes to mind Tom. Fine job here my friend. The post in the center with the subject to the left works well. :) J

Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to OZ and the Emerald City. A very nice place to live. Trust me on this one, I live there. The Lion **** MY CAEDES GALLERY****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOME PAGE

Mid-1800s would be my guess, judging by the bonnet; amazing clarity for a photo from that era. Let's see, that would make you about 165-170 years old? :oO

Did you use a "soft focus" lens cover on this?

Thanks for the comments... Yes, The era was the 1830's. No, I am not over 150 years old... Time traveling can really be draining, so it took a while before I got around to posting it. I was lucky not to be burned at the stake for being a sorcerer if they had seen my "modern" camera.

Geri, I didn't use a "soft focus" lens filter, only used polarized and UV filters. I shot it in RAW and then adjusted the "clarity" setting in the RAW App in Photoshop to give it that appearance.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

Very original, Tom. I like the mood of this scene ... even though the waman's face is hidden I can tell she is deep in thought. I like how the grass takes on almost a silvery / diffuse glow ... focuses more on the woman & fence.

Very well done ... I hope you entered this in the contest.

I love the softness, it creates a dreamy, nostalgic mood, as if it's an image from her mind's eye and she's dreaming of her own girlhood...

This is neat. Very nostalgic feeling. Almost like it was seen in a dream or movie flashback. Very cool! Keep it up!

P.S. If you get a chance, take a look at my gallery. Any comments, criticisms, advice, etc. would be most welcome! Have an awesome day!!
