It is a brass handrail to the front steps of my building that had snow built up on it from the storm overnight. I had to get the shot early in the morning before anyone came along and knocked the snow off.
I figured out what is was before I read your comment above, although I wasn't sure of it's composition--brass. You've a good eye to notice it. When we get a lot of snow here (the record where I lie is 103-1/2 inches) we get to see some rather oddly -shaped snowbanks but I don't recall seeing one quite like this. Have we ever had a "What the heck is this?" contest? This one would certainly be a candidate for it.

A pretty neat capture. Good perspective and composition of the shot. I like the layering of the snow and rail with the small hints of the brass colour.
