While on a walk, I had a cardinal flittering round me. Seemingly curious about who this guy was.

He's doing that head twist I see so often when birds are scanning the ground for munchies. whenever I see them perched on a heavily slanted branch like this I think they must have a natural, internal set of gimbals and gyroscope that allows them to effortlessly do this.
