We are under the arch, looking over a natural amphitheater. The trail continues along the base of the cliff, to the right of the trees. I couldn't get the bowl of the theater in this shot. As with much else, everything is far larger than it appears on film.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Ya gotta invest in a wide-angle lens, Jeff. Even so, it's quite dramatic, towering above us, it's like being inside a giant chimney.
