These are the coolest insect out there because they don't fear humans quite as much as other insects. Plus, they are apt to interact with us, rotating their heads and looking right at us, slowly raising their forearms in response to an approach... a few of my Seabee mates and I found one while working in Japan, making a pet of it, feeding it daily and seeing it interact with us, then returning it to the garden we found it in when our time came to leave. The clarity of your shot, Jeff, even lets us see the tiny details of its compound eyes. Its ability to turn its head a little more than 180 degrees and seeing the tiny dots in the eyes means he's watching you (counting the segments in the tail the top several here covered by folded wings, tells us the gender... if it's 5 it's a female; if its 7 it's a male).
