This hemlock is so large that it has a name. If I remember correctly, it is over 138 feet tall. It is trunk's diameter is roughly 9 feet in circumference. The crown has a 50 feet spread. It is believed to be the largest Eastern Hemlock in the world. I like the moss on the bark. It reminds me of a maze.

I think of trees as I do whales: massive, impressive, integral to the health of our planet, beautiful, invoking a sense of wisdom, each a unique individual, and photogenic as hell. You have verified all of those attributes for me with this capture, the perfect way to exhibit the extreme height and girth of this hemlock.
