Strangely, the image is not rotated. It actually was growing horizontally to the ground.

Nice. That splash of purple on the green background really stands out.

The colors clearly remind me of our little prairie asters, but the shape and style is definitely an orchid, one I find substantially more solid, less frilly than the better-known orchid. For those reasons and because of the lovely contrast with the green and dark background, I much prefer this one to any of the others of the species I have seen. Very well captured, Jeff, one that fits the narrative and purpose of Caedes very well, and whose technical and aesthetic attributes make it a favorite for me.
