An old railway station a hot summers day between train stops. Everything is quiet. Even the birds are resting. The scent of tar coming so strong from the joists of the rails. The tracks ends up in the horizon. A pause in time...... All comments are most wellcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated!

Superb structure!! A wee bright and chopped off at the top. I like the thought of the foreground part to create some depth!!

A NOTE TO ALL MY FRIENDS: I WILL BE COMMENTING LESS ON PEOPLE IN MY “FRIENDS” LIST SO AS TO MAKE TIME FOR VIEWING ALL “NEW IMAGES” AND ENCOURAGING OTHER PEOPLE OF WHOM I MAY NOT KNOW OR ARE NEW TO THE SITE. I WILL STILL VIEW EVERY IMAGE OF MY FRIENDS AND STILL COMMENT ON SOME IF I CAN GIVE A GOOD CRITIQUE OR MENTION WHAT I LIKE OR FEEL IS REALLY WORKIN’ WELL IN THE IMAGE. AS FAR AS MY IMAGES IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE AN IMAGE I REALLY WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THAT SO AS TO LEARN AND BETTER MYSELF.

Susanne, I know the situation as described in your narrative very well. The image and narrative are a wonderful match. Very good work.

Nice B & W. They seem to always take me back to my Childhood.
Not sure if that's good or not .
Thanks .

Susanne, I really like this in b&w, it gives it a vintage feel. I also like the architecture of the station with its several peeks and the one rounded room on the left. Looks like three usable floors above ground. I also like the wagon in the lower right corner for it contrasts nicely with the the other mode of transportation, the train. Everything is quiet, everything is well done!

Susanne, is this a recent shot or a scan of an old picture?...it sure has that old-time look about it...and I love old photos...I tend to agree about the white but otherwise a wonderful look at bygone days...thanks for sharing.

The old station and that piece of rolling stock speak volumes of another time. Bob, is right, Susanne. increasing the tonal range and lowering the intensity of the white would really add to the nostalgia of the shot. B&W was an excellent choice.

You really took me back in time, Susanne. Nice black and white, and your words seemed to come to life, especially the smell of the tar.

This is great Susanne. I might have not cropped it so tight at the top but otherwise it's on the money in my eye.

Your words were so poetic and they added a flavor to an already great photo. The B/W gave it the perfect feel. Great work Susanne.

I remember standing behind my mums shirt when I was about four years old as a steam train came into a railway station once. The noise and steam were quite frightening for me at that age! This has brought back some old memories looking at that station platform and the tracks. Thank you and well done!

What a great building, and I like it in black and white. It's maybe a touch over exposed but the washed-out feel is quite atmospheric.

Shots like these are a priceless treasure. Not only is this a great work my friend, but a few generations from now this will be all the future generations will have to experience what we still have to admire and look at first hand. It's like Route 66, once the interstate was built, small towns with charm and character were all but deserted. I am glad to see you capturing the past before the modern world tears it down to build strip malls. I love taking pics of old architecture and imagine what it was like in it's hay day. Nice work.

I dunno why but I love this! I could just imagine this station, years ago, bustling and full of life. Beautiful.
