Another one from the ´bin`. I posted another view of this castle for the "Curves" contest earlier. This is a closer view of the front of the the castle.

"Vadstena Castle was built by King Gustav Vasa in 1545 as a fortress to protect Stockholm from enemies from the south. The fortress consisted of three smaller stone buildings facing the lake, Vättern, three 31 meter wide ramparts, a courtyard, a moat and four circular cannons turrets." (quote from Wikipedia)

Great castle, love the water(I guess the moat!) right against it. Wonderful capture!

Nice to see a castle with a moat and water. I really like the looks of this. It appears to have been well maintained or refurbished. Great post Susanne.

Can I go for a canoe ride in the moat? I have to agree with Owd Bob, though. It looks like a prison. I like the stone work of that huge structure. I wouldn't want to be the widow washer though. LOL. Nice angle on the castle, Susanne.
