Did not know in what category to put this so it ended up in bridges. I think this is used for fishing or swimming. I don´t know the correct word for it in english. Can you help me out with that, please? Hope you enjoy the image.

All comments are most wellcome. I thank you in advance for taking the time. Always greatly appreciated!

Susanne, This is a pier and they are used for fishing or even bringing a small boat up to it so you either load or unload.I'm sure there have been a few dives off of it also.

You capture here is very nicely done my friend. I like that lens of yours. =^..^= sandi ♪

By the looks of the depth of the water, I think I could take a long walk off of this short pier and be safe afterwards! lol. Susanne, the stillness of the water and the reflections upon it are outstanding!

I guess that's a partial bridge anyway, but you would have to jump off the end and swim to get to the other side. LOL. It looks like a nice place to spend a warm summer day, with your feet dangling in the water, and doing some fishing with a bamboo pole. Sorta like Huck Finn. Very nice shot, Susanne.

Here in New England we call a small 'pier' like this a dock. Good for tying up boats, sunbathing, fishing, and if the water is deep enough, for diving. I like yours... it seems so peaceful and it reminds me of the lake in Vermont where we vacationed when I was young.

In my country it's called a small landing-stage Susanne, primary intented to tie up a small boat. It can be used for a lot of other purposes as well like fishing and diving. See in the comments above that there are other names for it as well.
Thanks for this very fine post.

Susanne this is really afabulous capture and the reflections in the water are superb. From where I'm from we use to call these docks, basically the same as a pier, just a different name.
