Oh, what you photographers go through to get a shot!...lol...Glad you got the tick out Carol. It was worth it! Great shot and perfect comp! I think I might have darkened it just a little bit, but otherwise superb!!
The sacrifices you make for your art are an inspiration to us all. Ticks usually lives on grasses and attach themselves to your pants and work their way north. Depending on the season, I sometimes dress in white. I live in tick heaven. With Ollie running through grasses that are taller than he is, I sometimes feel like a mother baboon removing ticks and stickers from him. At least I don't eat the ticks. Luckily very few ticks in this area carry Lyme disease although my last dog died from it. I guess it's important to stay on the road and what a road it is.
Now to your picture. I like to play around with my shots in PhotoFiltre. Negative gamma and a click of contrast might have helped, but this is pretty good as is. You know me....I would have run it through ReDynamix, oversaturated it and ended up with a noisy yet colorful blob. This is a better alternative. If you can get away with minimal editing you're doing better than most of us.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Loved how this turned out. Somehow, between the green and yellow, the scene reminds me of a painting I purchased of the biblical burning bush, still full of green leaves. Thanks for sharing this.
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
A lovely looking scene, Carol. Beautiful colours and nice lighting in the scene. Perhaps as suggested a touch of contrast would help improve on the lighting. Looks like a wonderful place to take in an afternoon stroll.
