The old country school my mother attended in the Northern part of Nebraska. I couldn't get in it although it had a new door. They had taken the sign above the door down, but I believe it had said, County School #168, if I remember from the last time I passed through the area. It was in bad shape, sad.

The B/W treatment and editing you applied works well with the old school building, Carol. I hope someone from the country will realize the Americana value of the structure and make efforts to preserve it. Bravo.

LOL at Jimbob's clever comment :)

Nice to see such a piece of history captured so well Carol. I trust there are windows along the sides of the building otherwise it would have been a very confining learning place. I hope it can get restored by someone, such a shame it has deteriorated because once gone they never return.
A welcome entry in the BWC, thank you.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Carol, maybe the new door is a good sign they will try to do some sort of uplift. I like the stark contrasts you applied here. I was born in Nebraska, Fremont being the town. tigs=^..^=

JimboB cracked me up with his No Bell price, Carol.
I attended one almost like it back in the day.
Brings back memories, both good and bad. :)
Good post.

I do like the effect younappliedvto to this photo it makes it look like a pencil drawing and the building and trees look great in B&W very fitting for the contest Carol.
