Found this old fellow all by itself and not in to bad of shape. Guess the farmer couldn't make a living there. That happens a lot here. Everything has gotten so big, so it shuts out the little farmer. I don't like seeing it happening.

I have long looked upon these relics as monuments to the hard work and unfulfilled dreams of that hardy stock of Americans who often lay it all on the line to build an independent way of life, producing food to fill the nation's needs. Unfortunately, too many challenges stop those dreams before reaching fruition. Out here on the northern plains we see these structures seemingly everywhere, but few people (including me) are able to present them with such artistic character.

Carol, a very interesting post. The capture is a good addition to your huge series of barn photographs.
Both your capture and narrative do me think of this song.

This is very nice, I like your postwork. The way of life for the farmer is difficult and I hate to see them go under as well. tigs=^..^=

It is sad that these old barns fall to neglect. You are saving them from obscurity through your photos however.
