I was out of school this week because of the snowstorm and Grandpa, my brother and I went picture taking. I used his new panasonic and he used his canon. The panasonic did really good. This is about 250 yards away. I like to hunt deer so this is fun. He told me to tell you he won't be posting any deer shots.

Really a nice shot of the snow and the deer. I hope you are enjoying your mini vacation. It's good that you are honing up on your photography skills. Any tips you get from Grampa should be top notch instruction. Good post, Brax.

Wow Stixx this is a beautiful shot of the snow and that big doe!! Tell your wonderful grandpa Tick that deer shots don't bother me at all, my son likes to deer hunt too so I'm use to it lol:)) Thanks for sharing some of your time off from school with us.

Nice shot Stixx. I was there when you took it. You sure figured out the Panasonic in a hurry. I like how you didn't put the deer in the middle of the scene. You did a great job with the composition.

Like to agree with the comment given above by your Granddad, Stixx. Capturing a dear this way makes the composition far more natural.
Thanks for sharing this fine image and enjoy your 'forced' brief school vacation my friend.
Regards, Cornelius.
PS: please tell your Granddad that he has to reconsider his decision not to post any deer shot.

That is a great shot of the snow covered land! I notice that there is no glare from the snow and that the clarity is excellent. Great job, Stixx - you are already almost as good as your grandpa. I say "almost" because otherwise he may not give you the panasonic again.

Snow, deer, naked trees, and a late in the day: what more you need for an excellent walk in the woods? Nice capture, makes me feel as if I had just taken a walk there.

Excellent. Especially considering it is on the backside of the light. Thank you for sharing it. A sight I seldom get to see an open field of snow with deer.

What a most sweet photo!! You must have been using a zoom eh? to get this close up without this deer running off. Just love the hills of snow..the shadows that soften the whole thing. I had not seen your photos before. I like this very much.Verena
