I really like this. Unlike many of the "jewel" designs that have been shown here (which are fine in their way), the jewels in this one are not so huge and overwhelming. Smaller but just as pretty; you've got plenty of negative space for balance. Because I like it so much, the only criticism I can think of is that a tinge of blue or violet in the larger nova might have been all right.
Whenever I visit your galleries ... it absolutely astounds me that you are a newcomer to this art. (Here I am recalling your words on your piece; "When The Birds Go to Sleep" which is still one of my favourites of yours, both conceptually and in presentation.)
This is quite beautiful.
I love it's simplicity and colour palette. And add in the depth that you have managed to create visually ... really nice work here.
Admittedly, I am somewhat curious as to how it would affect the composition visually if you were to re-orient the 'metal scroll' work (<--- not sure how to refer to this aspect) horizontally to show it's complete structure. Still keeping the jewels in their original orientations.
Not a critique really ... just with that part being cut off at the images' border has made me curious.
I wish you a wonderful day too ... and thank you for sharing your talents. :o)
Rather nice work. I agree with purmusic about the simplicity and colours. I like the overall concept and design. I'm not sure about the jewels. The way the dots/stars are incorporated detracts from the 3d effect, I think. I feel as though part of the jewels should be darkened. This might just be my eyes, though, or my personal tastes.
