I meant to keep away from contests for a while, as there are things I must do. But someone keeps suggesting Really Interesting topics! Stoppit… can't you stick to more mundane topics for a few months?? Say, until midway through January?

Anyway…

Work done in Photoshop CS5.

Inspiration for this entry: a diorama tutorial from the Photoshop Creative magazine (Issue 78). I didn't follow it step by step, but made use of the tips. I was going to follow it all the way through at first, just to get the gist of it, but they forgot to put their pictures on the DVD! The ones I used for this are mine, including the texture file.

Images used: two Bryce renders, one Vue render, two photos and one Paint Shop Pro composition. Some might recognize the 'fish' and the globes.

The chain and the balloon were tubes from Paint Shop Pro 7. The bear is called Bertie.

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. ~Rumi~

Very imaginative, Tootles. Reminds me of a coral reef with some hidden treasures. Best wishes in the contest.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Lil' red..

Thought I had commented on your piece here, as I distinctly remember when you posted it (simply put, and as I am want to say at times.. 'a standout, in and amongst the new images').

And would echo the thoughts and words above me.

Aside from the technical considerations, your image is more about evocation for me.

Strange as this may sound, or not.. get the feeling of comfort and that of being safe as a child, somewhat caught up in the fantasy world of your creation here.

Lots of things to see and investigate, all friendly creatures and a most welcoming and intriguing environment to explore.

Colour palette is great throughout. Good good composition.

Nice to see that you were rewarded in the contest for your creative efforts. Most deserving entry. :o)
