The plaque reads, First Annual Live Oak Arts Festival is dedicated to the " The Gateway Oak". Pascagoula, MS Very hard to grasp the scale of real estate it covers just driving by. I suppose it is well named, positioned by a highway near the western entrance of town.

WOW! That would have been a great climbing tree when I was a kid. Beautiful shot, E.

These are such grand tree È. It looks like it has been trimmed recently.
Makes me want to park my camper--pull out the veranda and have a Mint Julep.

Absolutely a stunning tree. Looks somewhat like an octopus. I can imagine it is very very large. Beautiful capture. I wonder how far back you would have had to go to get all of it in the frame. lol

When I look at "Gateway Oak, at full size, I can see all of the older "trims" given to this beautiful landmark. How careful each generation has been to preserve it and allow long life.

I can see the freeway signs in the background and wonder if the freeway was even there when this tree began branching out.

Stunning capture of a great old-oak tree with beautiful detail and composition.I have seen loads of these trees but never one with it branches running across the ground. When I was a young lad I would spend hours in the branches of these stunning trees.10/10
