Took a walk along the beach today.Looking for treasure that had been washed up.All i found was a dead crab and this piece of petrified wood..It was petrified because the tide was coming in and it couldn't swim..Poor thing,I said my goodbyes and left the scene..I didn't want anyone to see me talking to a plank..The wood felt the same way..R.

You will do more talking when you can't get wood Count B. It looks like a piece from a 92 year old elm grown on the east coast of the USA. I would say it came from somewhere between Portland and Bangor, Maine. Just a guess mind you. Wonderful shot and the textures are really good.

Well Biff, for my money...as long as that dead crab ain't road kill, it would be a treasure to me. I just hate the smell of tire rubber burning on the grill. LOL. Nice HDR image.

Poor piece of drift wood. That's ok it can't swim, it can just drift along.

If you look carefully at the nearer end of the wood you see the eye and an "unfriendly" grin. The wood was happy to see you leave it seems. Good job you got back home.

I'm so glad you chose this fine piece of British timber rather than the dead crab, Richie.

Great depth Richie. I like the textures and the seashells really add alot of colors to it. I wish I knew how many miles that piece of wood traveled.
