One on the right with a soft focus filter I've been trying out..Does this comply?....Can't put how it was done in tutorials as the effect was applied with hardware..IE:A homemade Soft focus filter. Cut off a section of pantyhose using a pair of scissors. Make sure that the section is big enough to cover the camera lens with some room to spare on the sides.Stretch the piece of pantyhose taut over the camera lens.Secure the pantyhose by wrapping the elastic band around the camera lens. Make sure that the homemade filter is secure and will not shift around during shooting..I used a stocking. ;)

Your lens is so good that it has come clear even through the obstruction! My personal preference is the one on the left Richie. If this were a portrait then perhaps the soft focus may be better.

How clever and yet so simple a manipulation/techinique. The difference is demonstrably noticeable. I like that you did this because in addition to knowing how you did this, I can visually see the dramatic effect.

I like it Richie. A poor mans filter that really works.

Richie, I've tried to do what you adviced us to do in your narrative, but my wife didn't accept that I would cut off a piece of the pantyhose she's wearing, lol.

Very inventive and clever though.

Regards, Cornelius.

I know where you can get a "green spandex filter," Count B. :)
I can definitely see the difference and I prefer the one on the left because we got to take the pantyhose off for the shot.

Were these foofies at WalMart? LOL. Now you got me wanting to try something like that. Your results are fantastic. That pantyhose filter works pretty good!

Sorry, but I prefer the left side Richie. But then I always like things on the sharper side. Beautiful capture though:)

Huh. Whoda thunk it. I think this unorthodox trick works quite nicely :) Nice to see you have a softer side to you Richie ;) Panty hose can keep jejjyfish from stinging you too. The surfers in Australia wear them I've been told. So if you go to Australia put them on your legs too Richie!

It adds a very nice dreamy effect. Thank you for sharing how to do it.

I see the difference as well. Both are fine works, one more dreamy the other more of a fine well detailed magazine type shot.

A valuable tip - I intend to try it.
I prefer the soft focus one, it seems to give more of a sunshiny impression.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
