---Just like some Old friends---

Everyone, dead or alive, who has contributed to our freedom and democracy shall be treated with honor and respect!

Great dedication, Richie.

There is always something going on in some corner of the earth Richie. A lovely image (even if it is not yours) and a nice tribute to those who gave their lives for the country and freedom.

Beautiful remembrance Count B. The fields of flowers reflect all the blood shed in senseless wars.
Excellent post. I am glad you took the wires out of the borrowed photo. :)

That soldier has no idea you reburied him in a foofy field. If he did, he would probably be smiling. Beautiful work, Biff.

Richie...This is a glorious shot and a fitting tribute about a subject that bothers the hell out of me. This poor guy was only 18 years old when he was killed fighting for something that he probably didn't even understand. 100 years later there's still plenty of raw meat for our military to choose from. Don't get me started.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

(John McCrae - May 1915)
