This is probrably the longest 8 seconds a person can experiance and allso at the same time the most thrilling. I apologize for not being on the past week or so. I have been very busy at work. I have covered 3 states today and am in Clovis NM. now. I hope you all enjoy this one. Evidently there are not to many rodeo fans out thier. At least thats what the c inexs are showing anyway.

This is your best Rodeo shot to date BTK. The movie 8 Seconds was pretty sad. You almost got the clown in the shot.

Not sure about whether or not there are many rodeo fans here on the site, Billy ... maybe?

That said..

Of the three that you somewhat recently posted, this is a nice shot.

Focus/clarity is good. There is some ... some, being the operative descriptor ... motion blur.

Composition is good (no parts of either persons or animals within frame chopped off).

I can appreciate the difficulty in trying to capture a good good photo, given the challenging conditions (lighting)/environment (fast action).

Caveats?

On my monitor, the reds and magentas are a tad prominent. Might be due to the kind/type of lighting indoors and that of the White Balance you selected or that your camera employed.

Solution? (After the fact, and in post processing/editing ... much better to correct before, and again, reiterating ... White Balance seems to be the culprit as to what my eyes are seeing here.)

Try making a Curves adjustment in your post processing/editing ... and/or that of a Colour Balance would be another possible adjustment.

Google is your friend here, to search out tutorials on the 'how to' stuff. In short, Colour Balance allows you to add/subtract certain colours in the Highlights, Midtones and Shadows sections of your image.

And in case you were unawares, I am pretty sure that your camera has a 'burst mode'. Delve into your camera's manual.

That stuff aside..

It is a nice shot. Take the C-Index with a grain of salt, and don't let it impact your enjoyment of photography too too much. Ask for critiques, be gracious (as I know you to be) when you receive them ... and keep shooting.

Billy - I am enjoying the variety of expressions on the faces of the spectators - one of fear, another of boredom, others of interest and excitement. This is the best of the rodeo postings. Thad

To me, this is an excellent shot. Sharp and detailed with just the right amount of motion blur to feel the action. The bull does not look happy at all. The clown is paying close attention ready to do his very serious job if needed, and the rider hanging on for dear life! Not being into rodeo or even farm animals I find the group of kids at the top of the shot the most revealing. They look like they are thinking "can't wait to get back home to my video games and facebook". lol

I think this is the best one yet, the colors might be a tad off, don't let the index bother you too much, it is not worth it. I watch the rodeo on tv sometimes, so I'm good with this one.

Well, I used to ride 'em (or should I say ATTEMPT to ride 'em), so I like this shot. Had a bull that looked a lot like that one knock me silly once, they said I did a real nice flip in the air upon exit, but about all I remember was the face-plant landing and trying to get up and get away from that red devil, LOL!
Plenty of critics here, so add me to the 'like it' list!
