You find very few gas stations like this now days, and you sure dont find the full service ones. It is all self serve and pre pay. I hope you all like this capture and thankyou all for your comments.
Service must be slow there judging from the looks of the car BTK. Did you check for skeletons inside the car. Full service stations were great. Now they charge more for doing less. The government obviously was involved. :) B/W does this one justice.
You don't see gas stations like that, and you don't see that many cars like that either. It's practibly in showroom condition, aseptin for the missin' headlight and the bumper 'bout to fall off. A little duct tape and the problems fixed! You might haveta lift a headlight from another car like that though, but don't be a doin' it in the day! Someone might see you! LOL! Great looking shot, Billy!
Well, Billy, I did it again. I wrote a lengthy critique and then erased it. The gist of my comment was as follows:
Perfect use of monotone or sepiatone or whatever you wanna call it. Really gives the shot that extra kick to make it feel old. I was a bit confused about the old car until I saw the flat tires. I assume is relatively permanent. I probably would have cloned out that big butt on the right and used ShiftN again. Everything else exceeds my greatest expectations. A real beauty and a shot that is a step beyond photography.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Billy - It's quite clear that Field Brothers didn't have a thirty-day retrieval clause in their contract with customers, since the old Hudson is still sitting there waiting for pick-up. The art deco style of the building is really special. Your monotone color and a little graininess gives this an old photo feel. Excellent work! Thad
