ND means neutral density. It's a gray filter, and the higher the number, the darker the gray. Those two together are so dar, you cannot see into the lens anymore ;o)
I'm still none the wiser! I am so ignorant! lol! well I must try out the ND filters sometime and see for myself! :) I like this one too Chris! so many beautiful fall pictures!

Another beautiful shot. I assume that the ND filter cuts the glare on the water? I wonder what the benefit of the ND is over a polarizer in this instance.
