Crhis, the positive aspect of this kind of weather is that, as long as the rain isn't pooring down, you can capture images. Of course it would be better when the sun was shining (I prefer caturing images under sunny conditions as well), but even under these conditions you've made a beautiful image. Think, the clouds gave your image a dramatic touch. Well done. Regards, Cornelius
PS: didn't expect to see Japanese characters at the wall of a hall.
Oh yes, that makes a very nice image indeed !
I do like clouds in photo's, since they just add to the atmosphere of a image.
Clear blue skies are getting boring afer a while.
Thanks for the posting !
Ahhh now I can see this is a view from the Stein Hotel Chris - I love seeing these images which remind me of my visit! I can see the restaurant on top of the Museum of Modern Art which I see from Sabine's photo you also visited! I hope you got to walk around the hill and see the views from all sides. ps did you find the beer halls? hmmmmm! lol! Excellent shot and into my favourites.

That grey, dark and cloudy sky really presses very heavely down on the landscape - but there are lots of vertical structures (pillars on the bridge, the towers, light masts and what seem to be a chimney) to lift it back up and hold it at bay.
Whether that was on purpose or not, it's a really good composition. The amount of sky vs land is at good balance too. I also like how "green the green" is.
What I don't like is that 15th man from the right on the bridge - he's making faces! ;-)
