Well they made it to Goldendale Washington and then went bust!! This old homestead, out on the plains, was erected in the turn of the century when planting a crop meant hard work and resulted in a meal for your family. It obviously did not work out that way in this case! Now the only things that occupies this old house is the wind and a family of pack rats. Hope you enjoy!

Paul - You have composed the photo to effectively portray the desolation of the lives of the first homesteaders. Very well done! Thad

A nice capture and great composition. Love that big wide view surrounding this lonely homestead. Very nicely done.

I am glad they left the house and just farm up to the front door Paul. I can imagine it with the prairie grasses blooming all around. This is a very beautiful scene. One of your very best.

Really something that it is left standing. Just a gorgeous shot of it. Sad though that it is out there all by itself.

"God's Little Acre." Paul, what an excellent picture. Great contrasts and colors from sky, to horizon, to ground.

I love photos like this one. They hold so much history...even if unknown....you can feel it though when you look at it. Great shot!
