You managed to get the shot by being one of the Swiss Guard? lol. I have been there...way back in 1995. I got to see Pope John Paul II at the Wednesday Audience. It was a very enjoyable and educational, as well as spiritual tour. I love the view you have presented here, Carlos. It looks fantastic in Sepia...which also qualifies for the black and white challenge.

This would make a great entry for the Emptiness contest...I'll bet that sound echoes pretty well through that hallway. The ornate columns and ceiling, and the hanging lanterns are wonderful! Good luck if you enter!

A great shot Carlos. I have one taken in 2006 from almost the exact same spot, but it is not as good as yours. :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Looking through your gallery, Carlos, I can see that you are a fan of architecture and of looking at objects and scenes through eyes different from the normal and mundane. This colonnaded stairway, enhanced by the sepia treatment, and your view of a city, far below the camera and shot through a break in the guardrail, as perfect examples of someone who enjoys studying the world around them. You have a very good and interesting eye for photography but I think we need to requisition you a new camera, preferably a DSLR with a minimum of 18 megapixels, unless, of course, your grainier photos are from a different time? I wonder about that because the beggar image is clearer than some of your others and the glass photo is tack-sharp. In the meantime, keep shooting and submitting.
