You got that right! One month ago you didn't have to worry about driving on ice and snow. This is a great shot, John. Could be in a nature mag. Fishing Monthly or something. The mist coming off the water gives it a super dramatic effect. Good work.
What a great photo you have here John. It shouts hope to me. Right from the title, to the man fishing, to the light filtering through the trees and finally with the rising mist coming off the water. The mist is rising to the heavens as the rest of the scene enjoys the day. It will miss the mist, but the mist will return in memories and be enjoyed over and over. Excellent work and the title was perfect. Happy Holiday, John.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
What a difference it makes indeed! Love the mist in this, and the colours too. The inclusion of the person really works - gives a fantastic sense of scale.
Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I tell them that, to me, poetry is like weather—
