Taken in Holland Park, London.I think this is my first waterfall on Caedes. I wasn't able to quite get the smoothness in the water that others here manage, just too much light when I took it to get the speed low enough. f16 1/10s. Focus is a little off too. In fact, now I look at it...

Comments most welcome.

If the focus is off some, one really can't tell. Another fantastic shot from you.

I think with the movement of the water, one really doesn't notice any lack of focus. I'm a learning photo hobbyist, but I agree a longer shutter speed would have given the water more "movement." It is, however, a very well balanced shot.

Yeah, it's a little soft, but I would bet there was a light breeze and any expansion of the shutter speed will make for movement in the leaves. I expect to see that if there's a breeze. When I shoot waterfalls or white water rapids, with the intent to capture "silk," I bracket a range between 1/4 sec to 0"8, figuring somewhere in there I'll get that smooth water I'm looking for. Ironically, I was just looking at your beach scene, with the surfer far out in the waves, and thinking this guy is a wiz at fast captures.

I like it very much. I felt it was a tad dark in smaller version, but the larger size afforded me to see in the shadows much more. I'm no falls expert ( I NEVER get to see them or try to shoot them) but as a viewer, I think they are a nice balance of silky yet defined enough to add interest.

I like the Overall Darkness you've Harnessed within your Capture, as it Brings a Certain mood to the Tranquility of the Setting. As for your Assertion on Focus, You did Render the Japanese(?) Maple, the Ferns, and the Rocks Quite amicably... Though, the Water in the Lower Basin is Probably what you were Alluding to... I like it, A lot!

You did a great job on your first waterfall photo. I would love to be able to capture one this good.

I really like what you have done with this especially the composition; I use a neutral density filter
when I shoot a stream or falls; it will give you the extra stops we need to achieve the effect I
think you are looking for. I have no problem with one to three second exposures.
