This small street with small houses is just next to the 'Grote Kerk' (Tall Church) of Veere. At the end stands a cistern. The rainwater of the 'Grote Kerk' is collected into this cistern (built in 1543). In far former days people of Veere used this cistern as a reservoir for reserve water for themselves and to extinguish fires.

Cornelius, how many houses are there in Veere !? (lol)
No, cornelius, you know me!, I was only joking !
It seems to me a lovely place, where the time had stood still, so
nothing has changed!. Have I right?
(and you show it to us in a very good way)
Regards!
John
