The first slot (castle) Ter Hooge was built approximately 1300. Nowadays only one tower of the 'old' castle remains. The 'new' castle was built in 1754 - 1759 and is owned now by one family. The landed estates around this castle are managed by the Zeeland Countryside Foundation and are mainly opened to the public. They are famous because rare plants (rare mushrooms as well ) are growing there. Slot Ter Hooge is situated in the vicinity of Middelburg

beautiful picture Cornelius with the castle in the spotlights of the sun but it is a pity that there is a little tree in the front of the castle but that is not your fault:)) nevertheless a lovely shot
