This little ancient shipyard in the tiny town of Arnemuiden, Zeeland, The Netherlands is the home base for a foundation runned by volunteers in onder to refurbish and or repair ancient Dutch wooden fishing boats. This foundation has the name: 'Stichting Behoud Hoogaars' (SBH). I took this image on the yearly celebration that the 'SBH' became the official rights to run this ancient shipyard. This image may give you an impression of that event.

Hope you'll like it. Thanks in advance for your comment.

PS: the black boat (in the middle of this image) was built on this shipyard in in 1878!

A fine capture showing the old shipyard and these unusual boats. For me it is quite interesting to see their construction.

This is wonderful image that only you could bring us Sea. The windmill in the background and these beautiful vessels make this so uniquely yours.

Looks like a lot of flag hoisting went on here, SEA.
I suppose they might have hoisted a few ales as well.
Well composed as usual.
I like how the Windmill anchors the scene.

This is great Mr. C. Got a bunch of things to behold: a windmill, sailing boats, a shipyard, a harbor, and a great sky. Now if I had a Sun-Drop ( a cold beverage) and a candy bar I'd be all set.

Cornelius - How great the the tradition and history is being preserved by the SBH. As well, that you have preserved such an image of their work in this masterful photo. Thad
