The title of my todays post has nothing to do with the present situation In Syria and Iraq, but only about the phenomenon Crepuscular rays.

When you'll check-out the above link, you'll learn more about this phenomenon and you'll see that it has a lot of alternative names (mostly related to a believe) like: Jacob's ladder, Jesus rays, God rays, Fingers of God, and so on. I suppose that walking (pedestrian), hiking, and biking 'believers', when seeing such a threatening sky, will have trust in coming home dry. Think that walking (pedestrian), hiking, and biking 'non believers' are wise to find shelter or have to prepare to unfold their umbrella's now, lol.

This image was recently taken on the peninsula South-Beveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

PS: Image is not tilted, it's just an optical illusion because on the left side of this image there's a slope in the landscape.

Amazing and awe-inspiring. I would probably get caught in the rain, because I would find it hard to move after seeing this view. Excellent capture.

Strange and beautiful clouds and sun's rays Cornelius. The rays look as though they come from the edge of the clouds. Very good find and capture.

A beautiful scene, Cornelius. I like how the rays reach out the edges of the frame, filling it with sunbeams. Fantastico!

Amazing & heavenly. The darker clouds do add a bit of drama to the image, but at the same time the sunset colors brings warmth & comfort. Beautifully captured, Mr. C. Thanks for the link too ... I didn't know the name to this phenomenom.

Whether threatening or inspiring, I think it would make a 'believer' out of most who come upon such a sight...a marvellous shot and fave for me as well.

A stunning image Cornelius. You've caught the phenomena perfectly with great colour and drama together with a really good silhouette.

Incidentally, crepuscular happens to be one of my favourite words (along with pellucid and quincunx).

I love viewing these rays my friend. I get to see this phenomena pretty often at work where the sun is coming up directly in front of my workplace. I don't get a chance to photograph them because I am working and they would frown on me for taking pictures while I should be working. A few times I have seen these rays when the sun was setting to the west. I enjoyed your capture and will view it on my desktop from time to time Cornelius.
